A "breach" is an incident where a hacker illegally obtains data from a vulnerable system. This may be a large online service, a retail organization or any other service or internet organization (Ex: Comcast, Tumbler, LinkedIn). The big breaches and details are listed there. All the data here comes from website breaches which have been publicly announced

Along with lots of other helpful security data, these folks have identified 3,808,893,616 cumulative breached e-mail addresses. What makes this site so useful is their complimentary service where you can simply type in any e-mail address you use or have used and in seconds get a report that shows if you have an account that has been compromised in a data breach.

With this work all assembled in this one place, you can find property, criminal, court, birth, death, marriage, divorce records, licenses, deeds, mortgages, corporate records, business registration, and many other public record resources quickly, easily, and without cost (There is one caveat however: Be sure to use the menus at the very top of each page and not wander into the "Pay through the nose" search services further down.
