As President of Colliers International, C. Stewart Forbes leads one of the few global Real Estate organizations with substantial coverage on six continents, a federation of independent commercial real estate companies with 4,400 professionals operating in 190 offices in the major trading blocs of North America, the Asia Pacific Rim, Europe and Africa. With over 300 million square feet under direct or advisory management, Colliers is probably the largest property manager in the world. The organization is ranked among the leaders in North America by annual revenues and annually provides services and closes transactions valued at over US$ 16.8 billion worldwide.

In 1979, Forbes incorporated the informally-organized 12-member American Realty Services Group (ARSG) into a service-driven, research and marketing network of 22 independent commercial brokerage firms covering 40 major US markets. He then spearheaded ARSG's merger with Asia Pacific-based Colliers International Property Consultants in 1985. He has directed the organization's rapid expansion since then, including its restructuring in Europe and plans for Latin American representation.

While in recent years he has concentrated on the organization's strategic growth and development and adaptation of Information Technology advancements to the Real Estate industry, Forbes has extensive experience in commercial, industrial, office and residential developments for both the public sector and private industry.

Prior to his helmsmanship at Colliers, Forbes served with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Company. He also served as Deputy of Development for the Boston Redevelopment Authority for seven years, negotiating the public sector commitments for such leading projects as Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Park Plaza, 60 State Street and Digital Equipment Company's construction of an inner-city manufacturing facility.

Forbes graduated from Harvard College in 1961. Following a three-year tour as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps, he graduated from Harvard Business School in 1967. He and his wife Dorothy have three grown children and live in Boston.
