Listen to Briefing from 10/06/00 & Receive Handout

Scott Kucirek is the President and co-founder of zipRealty.com. Just one year since its inception, zipRealty is a successful online national brokerage. Scott along with CEO, Juan Mini, founded zipRealty while at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley in January 1999. After much research and experimenting with several business models, the two entrepreneurs discovered a demand for online real estate brokerage services and received their venture capital funding while still in business school. Their vision was to create a new kind of real estate broker, one that combines the best of the virtual world with the real world. Scott's responsibilities include zipRealty's day-to-day operations, company culture and public relations. Prior to business school and zipRealty, Scott served 9 years in the U. S. Navy as a Naval Aviator. In his last three years of service, he was the director of the Navy enlistment programs in Northern California, managing 225 recruiting personnel located in 39 regional offices. While in business school, Scott co-founded an Internet company, Envizit, which offered virtual neighborhood tours for the real estate industry. Scott has an MBA from the Haas School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
