Did you know if you travel from Boston to Duluth and back it will cost you more to drive than to fly: $749.39 vs. $415.94. But, of course, if there are two of you traveling the winner flips and it costs slightly more to fly.

These folks are concerned about green subjects - but also about cost savings, so they came up with this Fly or Drive Calculator . You can use this unique calculator for any travel itinerary within the continental US, and it will provide useful estimates of the time and cost for flying versus driving.

You will have the opportunity to select some options in addition to the basic trip information. For example: Whether you need a car at your destination - the dates of travel - bags checked - and how many will be traveling on the trip. The calculator also breaks down its estimates by listing such items as: fuel, wear and tear, on-the-road hotel costs and tolls.

Interesting tool for a quickie guesstimate!
