This great place is sponsored by the non-profit MedSh'adow Foundation and is an on-line resource that helps patients to be proactive about their medications and to check on side effects of the medications prescribed to them. This gives users the opportunity to ask their health professionals deeper+ questions regarding the pros and cons of specific prescription drugs, and, if appropriate, explore other options such as alternative treatments or behavioral changes.

The Foundation recognizes that medications save lives and that many are necessary in treating chronic illnesses and in managing life-and-death situations. They also point out that some medications are sometimes over-prescribed. Their goal is to help patients to do a risk/benefit analysis of the medications they are prescribed and take a proactive role in their own health.
