Forbes Magazine, NBC News and a plethora of other news outlets have noticed this intriguing money-saving service. They state that the average user saves $512 each year
by cancelling unwanted subscriptions. To put this into perspective - you'd need over $40,000 invested in tax free bonds to earn that amount after tax.

Have you ever discovered a strange bill on your credit card or bank statement? It could be a trial you forgot to cancel, or a self-renewing subscription you no longer use but still pay for. These folks give you back control of your accounts and let you choose which services you want to be billed for.

They track down things you are being billed for that you may not even be aware of. First they scan your on-line statements and identify your subscriptions so you know who's charging you every month. Then you make the decision and use their 1-click cancellation system on any unwanted subscriptions. And they stay with you -- continuing to monitor your statements and sending you a monthly report that flags any changes.

You might save hundreds each year - and at this time there is no charge for the basic service.

Trick 1 is operated by the National Consumers League, America's oldest nonprofit consumer organization.

In the "Learn About Scams" sections, these folks provide tips about telemarketing and Internet scams to help you determine the legitimacy of offers that get through to you. There is also special information about fraud against seniors and scams against businesses. In addition, there is a section there about counterfeit drugs.

Among the tips you'll be advised that it's probably a scam if someone:

" Makes an offer that sounds too good to be true;
" Promises that you can win money, make big money fast, or borrow money easily;
" Asks for money to enter a contest, win a sweepstakes or lottery, or claim a prize;
" Refuses to send you written information before you agree to buy or donate;
" Refuses to give you a physical address;
" Requests your bank account or credit card number when you are not making a purchase with that account;
" Insists that you wire money or have a courier pick up your payment;
" Contacts you to ask for personal information the legitimate company already has;
" Gives you a check or money order and asks you to send some of the money somewhere.
